what is the brook?
The Brook is a movement of young, professional, everyday disciples making disciples for generations to come
But what does that actually mean? To answer that, we have to look at a few numbers first:
The average age of someone living on Earth right now is 30 years old (a young professional)
Over 50% of people living in Denver are between the ages of 20-40.
Denver is the 3rd loneliest city in the United States.
That’s where the Brook comes in.
We believe that the modern landscape of work and life can often leave individuals feeling disconnected and isolated, and we are on a mission to change that—and make disciples in the process. Our unique approach leverages the power of digital outreach to bring people together in meaningful and impactful ways. We do this through five avenues:
Outreach:
We have teams that connect with young professionals online and usher them into in person events and personal connections. Our app alone boasts over 4,000 downloads and more than 500,000 launches. Through our social channel, users are instantly plugged in.
catalytic events:
We host 2 conferences a year that meet our communities' felt needs. From Relationship Talks, to Living Life on Purpose and everything in between, these events propel our mission forward.
connection events:
We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel– that’s why we go where people already are in order to plug young professionals into solid community. We do this through monthly Happy Hours, Community Nights, & Brook sporting events.
discipleship:
Matthew 28:18-20 gives us a simple commission to GO and MAKE disciples. We have over 500 young professionals who meet weekly in small groups (aka Simple Churches), across the city to connect with God, connect with each other, and live life on mission.
develop leaders:
Growth and development doesn’t happen by accident. Through our Multiply training and individual discipleship, we raise up everyday, ordinary, leaders who are equipped to make an eternal impact.
Through our digital platform and various events, members can connect with like-minded individuals, build relationships, and grow their personal and professional networks. We believe meeting people’s personal needs for community and connections, allows them to be open to their spiritual needs being met.
